A Welcome Distraction for New Yorkers

Boomer (on the far left) and Carton (far right)

Well it seems, Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason of the "Boomer and Carton" radio program on WFAN have gotten seats right behind home plate at tonight's Yankees/Rangers playoff game.  Listeners who are familiar with the program and watching the game on TBS have probably been distracted by Carton's antics and facial expressions tonight on national television as they watch the game in the second row at Yankee Stadium.  It seems that now they have left (in the start of the eighth inning) with the Yanks down 7-3 and a radio program to do tomorrow morning.

Gimme Some Moore in Carolina

The Carolina Panthers have named Matt Moore as the Starting Quarterback for this Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.  It seems that the Panthers are putting in Moore because he gives the team the best chance to win in one of the few winnable games that remain this season.  This most definitely stunts the growth of rookie Jimmy Clausen who replaced Moore in Week 2, but has not fared much better.  Maybe the Panthers do not want to ruin Clausen's confidence (see David Carr with Houston in 2002) forever.  It is surprising though that they would turn to a Quarterback who has no shot of being here next season.  This all shouldn't make sense but don't forget that John Fox is a lame duck as the head coach of the Panthers.  He wants to win now to try and attract suitors next year and he doesn't (or shouldn't) care about the long-term benefits of the team.  This is again all Jerry Richardson's fault.

Are You "All In" For Penn State Football??

I'm sure "All In" to watch an unprepared coaching staff struggle to get plays in on time, a predictable (run/run/pass/punt) offense and an athletic department that accepts mediocrity and losing (see Men's Basketball).  Nittany Lion fans, do not blame the kids (the team) who don the blue and white every Saturday at Beaver Stadium.  This is a much deeper problem.  Then again, everything is always great in Happy Valley.  It sure was last Saturday on Homecoming.

Carolina Turning Into the Revolving Door for Wide Receivers

Okay Panther fans.  No need to worry about the release of Dwayne Jarrett after his second DUI.
Dwayne Jarrett's Mugshot

They just signed Devin Thomas who was just released from the Washington after modeling, appearing in music videos with Fantasia, and sleeping during practice.

Have faith Panthers fans, only 11 more weeks of seeing one of the worst pass offenses in league history, which will hopefully lead to the selection of Wide Receiver A.J. Green from Georgia.
