Gimme Some Moore in Carolina

The Carolina Panthers have named Matt Moore as the Starting Quarterback for this Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.  It seems that the Panthers are putting in Moore because he gives the team the best chance to win in one of the few winnable games that remain this season.  This most definitely stunts the growth of rookie Jimmy Clausen who replaced Moore in Week 2, but has not fared much better.  Maybe the Panthers do not want to ruin Clausen's confidence (see David Carr with Houston in 2002) forever.  It is surprising though that they would turn to a Quarterback who has no shot of being here next season.  This all shouldn't make sense but don't forget that John Fox is a lame duck as the head coach of the Panthers.  He wants to win now to try and attract suitors next year and he doesn't (or shouldn't) care about the long-term benefits of the team.  This is again all Jerry Richardson's fault.
